Karakol ski resort
Karakol
In Soviet times, it was used to conduct training for the country's Olympic team. In 2004, the base was completely modernized. Today, Karakol is an ideal place not only for training athletes but also for active recreation. On the territory of the Karakol ski resort, there are:
– Four chairlifts (two double and two triple)
– Hotel
– Cozy chalets
– Restaurant
The Karakol ski resort is a unique ski resort in terms of its natural conditions. The base is located at an altitude of 2,300 meters above sea level on the slopes of the Tien Shan mountains, surrounded by majestic coniferous forests. A mild climate, influenced by the ice-free alpine Lake Issyk-Kul, allows you to get maximum pleasure from skiing. In winter, daytime temperatures rarely drop below -5°C, and a high number of sunny days allows you to ski and get a tan at the same time. The skiing season starts in November and lasts until April. Throughout this time, you do not have to worry about snow — it covers the ground in a thick layer ranging from 1.5 to 2.5 meters.
In winter, it is a true paradise for skiers and snowboarders. A snowmobile ride through the winter forest will add positive emotions and unforgettable impressions. In summer, you have a unique opportunity to take exciting jeep tours along mountain roads, feel like a true rider while conquering mountain peaks on horseback, or go hiking along the best tourist routes.
No matter what time of year you visit Karakol, you will enjoy a wonderful vacation and discover the pristine nature of Kyrgyzstan.
